What have you learned from your audience feedback?

The stereotype of our target audience, which we gained feedback from.

The similarities between the actual artist and our actress who is recreating the artist, are that they are both representing a stereotype for indie/rock style of apperence. This is presented through the costume and genre of music that's used in the video. The role of in the video that each play are the same they are the main artist so the video is focused on them, so most of the shots are of different angles of them. Their function in the video is to create the video they do this through singing the song and acting out the story which is in the song.
The differences are that in florence and the machines verison the story is different so her role in the film is slightly different however she is still the main focus and artist.

The genre conventions used in the video focuses on mainly the alternative rock genre and stereotype this is because of the music of the video and the costumes used. This is because of the use of different video's in the same genre, they all have it focused on the artist or band at times then change to other shots that are locational ones. These video's were found during our research.

The uses and gratifications of my audience and how they will consume the text are presented throughout my video, they way in which the audience would be attracted to the video is through the genre of music, if they are intrested in the music then they would have the same understanding of the text that was imagined. The target audience was anyone that are intrested in this type of genre, whether they enjoy the music and style which is being shown. They would enjoy music of the same genre such as The maccabees, paloma faith etc, if they like the style of costumes used throughout the video then, they would probably shop in topshop/topman.

The way we attempted to get feedback on our music video was through showing it to as many people we could, in order to get some comments back. We used different methods such as uploading the video onto facebook and youtube, we also ased friends and teachers so we got a variety of comments and not just unhelpful ones.

The feedback that we gained from these methods helped us see that some parts of the video could be improved and that it didn't account for everyones prefernce, some parts weren't as easy to understand. This helped us to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the video.
The feedback lead us to think of some ways we could have improved the finished video, such as the title which is shown at the beginning of the video, and some shots which could have been lipsinked abit better.
Our product could be linked to real media texts in some shots, as some parts made it real because they could be seen in real media texts. The various locations and different shots, the main focus being on the artist is always shown in the same genre music videos.
