Take one, filming
We got the first part of the filming done, we decided on London as the location to film. We managed to film the instrumental parts of the song and the parts we will be using for the quick cuts and different angle shots. We can now focus on the main part of filming the story. We got a lot of footage shot which we can use for editing and some extra scenes which we can use if we need to add in extra scenes.

CD cover
The original CD cover art for Florence and the machine has the reoccurring theme of "lungs" which is the albums title, the same use of continuity would be what i would like to achieve through the album cover i will produce. This gives the album the starting style which the single covers usually continue.

This is the plan for the new single cover, i will use stills for some of the footage we already have this will make the single cover have continuity with the video. Also i will use the some of the stills from the video for the magazine advert then each of them will all have the same style and be relevant to each other, also the other members of my group will be using stills from the video which will make all our work have continuity and match.

Cd cover research
The latest part of our production work we have started in the research into our advert and CD cover.
Firstly we researched different music magazines and saw how the adverts were presented in the magazines. These were NME, Kerrang and Top of the pops. In NME the adverts were smaller and usually shared the page with other things, would usually be placed along the bottom or be a page were they would be placed. There weren't any full page adverts in the magazine. In kerrang they used the similar layout style to NME being the adverts sharing the pages of other content, in the magazine. Whereas in Top of the pops there were very few advets but they were full page ones.
The main point of this task was to see which magazine would be best for us to promote our music video. The best one to use would be NME i think due to the same genre of music are promoted in this magazine, which means the people who are intrested in the music would purchase the magazine and see the adverts for our artist in there.
Our album covers and promo adverts will all be seperate but will still have the same continuity throughout our work, so it's clear that they are still promoting the same artist and song.
Started researching some promo adverts and covers that have continuity in them, such as the album cover and single covers being different but having aspects that show its the same artist.

The album cover and single cover are completely different but have the same style as eachother. Which is what we want to achieve with each our our covers and magazine adverts. Above are the covers for the album ‘Lungs’ the single ‘Rabbit Heart (Raise it Up)’ and the EP ‘A Lot of Love. A Lot of Blood’. All of which have the artist as the main image taking up most of the cover, with the title and artists names featured smaller either at the top of the covers or at the bottom, not interfering with the main image.

Contacting the artist
We were told that in order to use the song of any chosen artist we had to ask permission. Our group chose Florence and the machine so we had to contact her in order to use her song kiss with a fist for our music video. We thought the best way to do this was by creating a twitter account and following her on there, this way we could easily ask her permission. Twitter has proof of real acounts aswell.

Personal identity
Looking more in depth at online identity, and how people define themeselves online using social networking sites. We were asked to answer this question and create a survey.
Explain the concept of personal identity and how humans represent themselves. Describe how emerging media technologies have altered the perception of personal identity. Explore the ways in which this may be perceived as a benefit or disadvantage.
The survey could be of use when answering the question above. The questions which my survey consisted would help gain a better understanding of how people represent themselves online.

Collective identity & Online identity
We started looking at collective identity, personal identity and online identity. We express our identity mainly through clothing, culture and sterotypes.
Online identity is a social identity that and internet user establishes in online communities, people create these on social networking sites such as:-
facebook
myspace
youtube
blogging
dating sites
fansites
These sites allows people to be whoever they want to be. Having the control on how real you want to be and if you want to use psudonyms (fake names) birthdays etc.
Identities which are presented online shouldn't be relied on as people tend to lie and exaggrate. This has been studied by social psycologists and child protection such as Marcus, Machilek and Schutz.
